About PauseKits

A private, on-device toolkit for pausing before you text, resetting after a slip, and saying what you need without reopening the channel.

Who builds this

PauseKits is built and maintained by a small independent team. We are not therapists, and we do not pretend to be: the app and this site are educational self-reflection tools, not clinical instruments. Where a topic touches safety, mental health, or legal outcomes, our pages say so plainly and point to real help.

The method behind our content

Every guide starts from a real, observable moment — a birthday date approaching, an unsendable letter, the third crossing of a stated limit. Our working rules:

  • Answer first: each page opens with a direct answer you can use today.
  • Actions you own: we favor framings where the next step is yours, not a rule to impose on someone else.
  • No fake precision: no scores, no compatibility percentages, no predictions. If a tool cannot honestly measure something, we do not dress it up as if it did.
  • Real situations over abstractions: examples are composite scenarios drawn from patterns that repeat across many breakups, written the way people actually talk.

What PauseKits is not

Not therapy, counseling, or a substitute for professional mental-health care. Not a diagnostic instrument. Not a data collection service — your letters and check results stay on your device.

Questions or corrections are welcome — see contact.
